Before ever exchanging vows, I was warned that marriage would take a lot of work. As a ripened 10-month-old newlywed I can attest to the truth of this sentiment, but would also add that marriage - or at least my marriage - further requires an endless supply of a peculiar sense of humour (sic). Although I can't proclaim truthfully to know the exact statistics, I would wager that there aren't many young women who find themselves yoked with a twenty-something Canadian curmudgeon. What I do know is that the day-to-day antics of navigating life with the walking contradiction that is my husband keeps me guessing.
